Families are advised that a national test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system will take place at 1:30pm on Monday 27 July 2026.
AusAlert is a new national warning system that allows emergency services to send emergency alerts directly to compatible mobile devices during local and national disasters.
As part of the national test, compatible mobile phones and devices across Australia will vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for approximately 10 seconds. This alert will occur even if devices are set to silent mode.
Students who bring a mobile phone to school are reminded to follow our school鈥檚 mobile phone procedures. Devices should remain switched off and stored in bags or lockers throughout the school day.
The test is being conducted nationally to help ensure the new system is working correctly and to familiarise the community with how emergency alerts will be delivered in the future.
